City & Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition (Incorporating Amendment 1 : 2011)
The 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring Regulations course is offered over three days and includes the new amendments. There is a two hour multi-choice exam, which is offered on the final day (or later if the candidate needs further time to study)
We offer a four week Domestic Installer course comprising Basic Electrics, Wiring Regulations, Portable Appliance Testing (if required), "Part P" Certificate for Domestic Installers and Initial Verification (Inspection, Testing and Certification). This is for those wishing to join the electrical industry to work on dwellings only. The rules have changed now for those Domestic Installers wishing to join a Competent Persons' Scheme. The one-week course will still give the qualification to work in many areas of domestic dwellings but some areas of work may now need Certifying by a qualified member of a Competent Persons'Scheme.
If anyone had achieved the Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Installers (our one-week course) they can then enhance this qualification with us in order to join a Competent Persons' Scheme and then be able to sign off all of their own work.
Inspection and Testing Courses
The old City & Guilds 2391-10 is now the new Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection of Electrical Installations, a name adopted by both EAL and C&G.
We have decided to go with EAL now because their assessment is on-screen and open book. This means you have Guidance Note 3 in front of you for the exam (at last!).
The EAL version is accepted by the JIB for grading purposes and the NICEIC have now formed a partnership with EAL.
The City & Guilds 2392-10 (Fundamental Inspection & Testing) is now the Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification of Electrical Installations.
Again we are going with EAL for this qualification, which covers all new work, including certifying three-phase Commercial and Industrial Installations. Assessment is again on-screen and open-book. We can offer those candidates who are already experienced in Inspection & Testing a "combined" one-week course which will give the recognised qualifications in both Initial and Periodic. This will satisfy JIB requirements for grading to become an Approved Electrician.
The old 2391-20 (2400) is now the 2396-01 Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations. A new course starts on Monday 7th October 6pm - 9pm for nine weeks.
Registration for the existing Technical Certificate e.g. City & Guilds 2330 finished in December 2012.
The City & Guilds 2365 has now replaced it.
NVQ assessment registrations have been extended until December 2013. (Yes 2013!)
